Our Story

Built by Gamers,
Written for Real Players

Louisville Gaming was created because honest, human gaming content is harder to find than it should be. We fill that gap with editorial writing that respects your intelligence and your time.

Our Mission

Editorial That Puts the Reader First

Gaming content online tends to fall into two categories: breathless hype for the latest release, or deeply technical content aimed at a narrow audience. Louisville Gaming exists in the middle — practical, thoughtful, and grounded in the realities of how people actually play.

Our mission is simple: help people make better decisions about how, when, and what they play — without the noise of commercial pressure or manufactured excitement.

No sponsored content. No paid reviews. No affiliate pressure.
Transparent about what we are, who we are, and how we think.
Written for casual players and dedicated ones alike.

How We Work

Our Editorial Standards

Balanced Perspective

We don't approach any topic with a predetermined conclusion. We research, we consider, and we write what we actually believe is true — even when that's inconvenient.

Factual Accuracy

Claims about research, statistics, or industry trends are checked against reliable sources. Where we are uncertain, we say so. We would rather be honest than appear authoritative.

Reader Wellbeing

We take the connection between gaming habits and wellbeing seriously. Our content actively avoids encouraging unhealthy patterns and promotes thoughtful, sustainable engagement.

Editorial Independence

No publisher, developer, or advertiser has ever influenced what we write or how we write it. Our content decisions are made by editors, not commercial agreements.

Platform History

How Louisville Gaming Came Together

The platform grew from a straightforward observation: gaming had become one of the most significant forms of entertainment globally, yet independent, non-commercial coverage remained surprisingly sparse.

What started as a small editorial project has grown into a structured platform with a clear focus on quality, honesty, and reader service.

Early 2022

The Idea

Daniel Chen, then a freelance games journalist, began archiving long-form pieces about gaming culture that didn't fit standard review formats. A pattern emerged: readers wanted depth, not hype.

Mid 2022

First Pieces Published

The first three editorial pieces went live under the Louisville Gaming name. The response was modest but encouraging — particularly from readers who felt existing gaming content didn't speak to them.

Early 2023

Team Expands

Amara Singh and Tom Ashby joined as analyst and editor respectively, bringing their own expertise and perspectives. The editorial scope broadened to include genre analysis and wellbeing content.

2025

Louisville Gaming Today

A platform with a clear editorial identity: independent, honest, reader-focused. Interactive tools and quizzes added to help readers engage more personally with the content. Still growing, still independent.

FAQ

Common Questions

A few things readers commonly want to know about how we operate.

Is any of your content paid for or sponsored?
No. Louisville Gaming does not accept payment for editorial coverage. Our content is not influenced by developers, publishers, or advertisers. We have no affiliate relationships that influence what we recommend or how we describe things.
How do you decide what topics to cover?
Topics are chosen based on what our editorial team believes will be genuinely useful or interesting to our readers. We prioritise depth and usefulness over timeliness, which is why we focus more on evergreen guides and cultural analysis than news-driven coverage.
Do you accept reader contributions or guest articles?
Currently, all content is produced internally by our editorial team. This ensures consistency in quality, tone, and editorial standards. We may open contributions in the future, but only under a clearly defined editorial process.
Who can I contact about the content?
All editorial queries can be sent to [email protected]. We read everything and respond as promptly as we can, though response times may vary depending on volume.
